The University of Ibadan Technology and Engineering Alumni Association is an organization whose aim is to establish networking connections among engineering and technology alumni members through a recognized forum for the free exchange of ideas, association & influence that can help stimulate appropriate global interaction and foster professional networking able to benefit the members, the network and the alma mater.
The board of the alumni body will be inaugurated on March 20, 2021.

GOALS
- To create an enabling environment for healthy interaction, free exchange of ideas and professional networking among alumni members of the Faculty of Engineering and Technology, University of Ibadan.
- To promote research and developments in the fields of Engineering and Technology in Nigeria.
- To create an enabling environment for technical knowledge transfer between seasoned alumni professionals and the Alma matter.
- To partner Engineering and Technology industries for the purpose of full time engagements and internships for members.

Objectives
This program aims to establish a career center hub that is able to serve as a resource for graduating class, recent graduates and the bulk of the Engineering and Technology alumni hoping to secure good employments. Service will be tailored to help students looking for internships, graduating class & recent graduates looking for new jobs, Alumni members navigating through career change, promotion or looking to hire for their own company. Services include

We aim to provide numerous opportunities to support the faculty, students and its establishments. Thus, through the support of the alumni, we intend to provide
i. Training: this is a program that will create platforms for seasoned alumni members globally to provide technical training using Google classrooms virtually or in-person to students, staff and faculty members of the institution. Such endeavor will help bridge the gap between the faculty and other Engineering and Technology programs globally.
ii. Mentoring: This programs helps build a unique relationship that can bridge the gap between academic and professional life. The mentor-mentee relationship assist members with the challenge of navigating through the engineering and technology profession such that those who have experienced the journey benefits those starting the journey.
iii. Scholarships, Endowments & Honorarium: This program helps to facilitate development through contributions in terms of scholarships which can come in various forms liked named scholarships or designated scholarships, donations that can go into infrastructure developments or upgrades, endowments etc.
This program aims to promote research development in the Engineering sector by developing strengthening position of researchers and the various kind of technological research being undertaken. It will involve capacity building programs designed to facilitate faculty members, student researchers & research administrators in attracting funding & in pursuing not only basic research but applied and developmental researches. Incentives include local and national competition with competitive research and development endowments able to help advance the quality of research and developments in the Country. The competition will entail detailed review of submitted research either by a commissioned committee consisting of professional individuals in the field of research development by the Organization or an external refined institution to whom the responsibility may be outsourced.

The organization will build a community network with outstanding perks and opportunities in exclusivity such that membership will attract several values. By having an organized collective of technology students, the organization can bargain for important discounts and free licenses to key programs, digital resources and platforms that students and faculty members require to excel in their study at the university.
About University of Ibadan
The University of Ibadan (UI) is a public research university in Ibadan, Nigeria. The university was founded in 1948 as University College Ibadan, one of many colleges within University of London. It became an independent university in 1963 and is the oldest degree awarding institution in Nigeria.
Through its graduate network, the University of Ibadan has contributed to the political, industrial, economic and cultural development of Nigeria. The history and influence of the University of Ibadan have made it one of the most prestigious universities in Africa.
Through its alumni and alumnae, the University of Ibadan has, in the past six decades contributed significantly to the political, industrial, economic and cultural development of Nigeria.

History
Established in 1948, the University of Ibadan, UI as it is fondly referred to, is the first University in Nigeria. Until 1962 when it became a full-fledged independent University, it was a College of the University of London in a special relationship scheme. The University, which took off with academic programmes in Arts, Science and Medicine, is now a comprehensive citadel of learning with academic programmes in sixteen Faculties namely, Arts, Science, Basic Medical Sciences, Clinical Sciences, Agriculture, the Social Sciences, Education, Veterinary Medicine, Pharmacy, Technology, Law, Public Health, Dentistry, Economics, Renewable Natural Resources and Environmental Design and Management. The Faculties of the Basic Medical Sciences, Clinical Sciences, Public Health and Dentistry are organised as a College of Medicine. The University has other academic units among which are: Institute of Child Health, Institute of Education, Institute of African Studies, Centre for Child Adolescent and Mental Health, Centre for Educational Media Resource Studies, African Regional Centre for Information Science (ARCIS), Centre for Peace and Conflict Studies (CEPACS), Centre for Petroleum, Energy, Economics and Law (CPEEL), Centre for Sustainable Development (CESDEV), and Centre for Entrepreneurship and Innovation (CEI),Institute for Advanced Medical Research and Training (IAMRAT), Centre for Drug Discovery, Development & Production (CDDDP), Centre for Control & Prevention of Zoonosis (CCPZ). A new National Institute for Maternal Child & Neonatal Health (NIMCNH) & Institute for Infectious Diseases are under construction. A new School of Business (UISB) is expected to take off later this year. The University, as part of efforts to fulfil a God-given mandate of promoting Nigeria’s development, established a Research Foundation (UIRF). In response to emerging threats to peace and peaceful co-existence in Africa, the University established the Institute for Peace and Strategic Studies (IPSS) to provide actionable studies and solutions.
